DAYA sponsored recently held Dubai Print Award 2007, organised under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It has been expanded to cover those working in the printing and publishing sector in the whole GCC region, and not just the UAE.
Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Printing and Publishing Group (PPG) honored the winners of the Dubai Print Award 2007 on January 15, 2008, with gold, silver and bronze awards. The awards were bestowed to winners of 21 categories during a lavish ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Dubai, including the debuting Bahrain Award, Kuwait Award, Oman Award, Qatar Award, KSA Award and UAE Award. Winners were chosen by a diverse and elite panel of international judges.
The Middle East’s printing and publishing sector is projected to be worth approximately AED 6.24 trillion by the end of this year, which represents a great incentive for DAYA. These awards were supported because it aims at encouraging those working in the printing sector to improve their products and provide the market with the highest quality of printed materials. Mr. Tarek Jawharji, the CEO of ColorLine Group and the Vice Chairman of PPG, revealed the list of elite sponsors of the award. The ceremony was attended by prominent government dignitaries and distinguished guests from the printing and publishing sectors, in addition to the participants and winners of the various categories.
